Our Design & Materials

Design

Righteous Fashion is a Scandinavian fashion-brand, for the contemporary woman, combining clean-line design with a sustainable production and high-quality organic materials. We want to make clothes for women who are unwilling to compromise with fashion or fairness, design or quality.

Righteous works with various designers to always stay updated and able to offer dynamic and interesting collections to our customers. The Righteous design philosophy is to create fashion that communicates exclusive and timeless elegance to its customers. For us, fashion does not have “best-before-label”, nor does it follow the latest trends. Instead we believe in fashion that will last, both in its design as in quality.

We want to make clothes that are sustainable in every sense; for the manufacturer, for the environment and for you. By wearing Righteous Fashion you are given the opportunity of doing good and looking great at the same time.

Materials

To Righteous Fashion quality is a guiding line. It is about commitment to sustainability embodied in the minute detail, the accuracy of fit as well as the choice of material. For the benefit of the workers, the consumers and the environment, Righteous Fashion works exclusively with sustainable productions and natural materials, such as organic and Fair trade certified cotton, organic bamboo, soybean and soft luxurious cashmere wool.

Righteous Fashion is the first company in Sweden to become a licensee for Fairtrade cotton and our products have been labeled with Fairtrade since 2007.

Cotton

Righteous Fashion works exclusively with Organic and Fairtrade certified cotton.

Organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment. Organic production systems replenish and maintain soil fertility, reduce the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and fertilizers, and build biologically diverse agriculture. Our cotton in grown in cooperatives in India and the manufacturing of textile and finishing is made in Mauritius.

Cashmere

In the High Altitudes of the Himalayan Region in Asia you find the Capra-Hircus goat, which gives us cashmere wool of an excellent quality. When doing cashmere- clothing one is using the inner layer of the fur of the goat, which is very soft and exclusive. The Capra-Hircus goats are a very valuable source of income for the farmers and are hence treated very well and fair.

Soybean

Soybean is a highly sustainable organic fiber. The soybean textile-fiber is sources from soy protein, using the leftover materials after producing tofu and soybean oil. The rest material is liquidized and then the fiber is spun using a wet-spinning technique. The manufacturing it eco-friendly and the material is biodegradable.

Bamboo

Bamboo is an organic and natural fiber, which is hypoallergenic and gives a natural UV-protection up to 98%. The textile fibre is manufactures using the inner layers of the stalk. Bamboo is a fast-growing crop and no external watering is needed. One acre of bamboo gives 10 times more product than one acre of cotton. The manufacturing it eco-friendly and the material is biodegradable.

Wool

Wool is a natural and very durable material with a long tradition. Our wool comes from free-range Nepalese goats, using only the finest fibers. The livestock has been treated well and fair and have not been exposed of any pesticides of genetic modified crops.

Colouring

We are using only environmentally friendly and 100 % metal and AZO free colors for our collections. For the knitted materials in soybean, bamboo, wool and cashmere, every item is dyed individually which means some variations in shades and hues may occur. We have also been working with natural dyes for some of our styles using for an example union, beat-roots and herbs as coloring method.
